Ep. 004 - Own Your Own Story with Carly McPartland

Do you feel like your life has turned into an exhausting game of meeting others expectations? You're likely constantly worried about what others might be thinking, discover, or suspect about you. You overthink situations where you feel you're underperforming, and jump at the chance to prove your worth.

And maybe you're sure there's gotta be another way.

Carly has been where you are. A helper by nature, Carly knows a thing or two about sacrificing what she needs in an effort to keep the peace, make others happy, and meet the needs of others. Add in being a school teacher, let alone a school teacher navigating a pandemic, she's got a lot urgent and important expectations knocking at her door.

On this episode of #MayWeKnowThem, Carly shares how she found the strength to own her own story. She talks about what had her stop forcing herself to meet external expectations and start trusting herself to call the shots everywhere in life. She discusses how she finds the light in dark moments, weaves positivity into life's everyday problems, and allows who she is to be enough...and what an impact that has on the little minds she teaches every day.

In true Strong Woman fashion, we created space not only for you to see, but to be seen! As you listen, write down what hit you straight in the heart. Even if it made you uncomfortable. Hey, especially if it made you uncomfortable!

Let's start a conversation about what matters, and lets do it together.
